Kid Icarus: Uprising Weapon Modifier List

Hello, everyone!

This page is a compilation of all of the possible weapon modifiers in Kid Icarus: Uprising. These modifiers, along with Ranged and Melee attribute scores, are what determine a given weapon’s value and strength. A weapon can have anywhere from zero to six modifiers, and there is a possibility for negative modifiers as well. Below are each of the modifiers, as well as a brief description and any other relevant information. If you have anything to add or see an error, feel free to comment!

Overall defense

Description: Increases the overall defensive capabilities of your character, including shot defense and melee defense. The higher the Overall defense modifier, the less damage you take from enemy fire and melee attacks.

Modifier range: -4 to +8

Negative Modifier: Negative Overall defense scores make your character more susceptible to all forms of damage.

Other Information: Overall defense cannot be present on a weapon with Shot defense or Melee defense.

Shot defense

Description: Increases the defensive capabilities of your character against enemy fire. The higher the modifier, the less damage you take from enemy fire.

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: A negative Shot defense score makes you take more damage from Ranged/shot attacks.

Other Information: Cannot be present on a weapon with Overall defense.

Melee defense

Description: Increases the defensive capabilities of your character against melee attacks. The higher the modifier, the less damage you take from these attacks.

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: Like the other negative defense modifiers, a negative Melee defense means you take more damage from Melee attacks.

Other Information: Cannot be present on a weapon with Overall defense.

Knockback defense

Description: Increases the defensive capabilities of your character against knockbacks. The higher the modifier, the less likely your character is to be knocked back.

Modifier range: 0 to +4

Negative Modifier: None

Other Information: N/A

Status resistance

Description: Decreases the likelihood of being afflicted with a status condition (i.e. Poison, Burning, Freezing, Weakening, etc.)

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: A negative Status resistance modifier makes your character more susceptible to being afflicted by status conditions.

Other Information: N/A

Health

Description: Increases your character’s maximum health. The higher the modifier, the more damage your character can take before being defeated.

Modifier range: -4 to +8

Negative Modifier: A negative Health modifier decreases your character’s maximum health.

Other Information: N/A

Poison

Description: Makes your weapon have a chance of Poisoning the opponent, slowly draining their health. The higher the modifier, the more likely your attacks are to Poison.

Modifier range: 0 to +4

Negative Modifier: None

Other Information: Cannot be present on a weapon with any other status condition modifier.

Burning

Description: Makes your weapon have a chance of Burning the opponent, draining their health. The higher the modifier, the more likely your attacks are to Burn.

Modifier range: 0 to +4

Negative Modifier: None

Other Information: Cannot be present on a weapon with any other status condition modifier.

Confusion

Description: Makes your weapon have a chance of Confusing the opponent, which makes your opponent move and shoot unpredictably. The higher the modifier, the more likely your attacks are to Confuse.

Modifier range: 0 to +4

Negative Modifier: None

Other Information: Cannot be present on a weapon with any other status condition modifier.

Paralysis

Description: Makes your weapon have a chance of Paralyzing the opponent, greatly slowing down their movement and dodging abilities. The higher the modifier, the more likely your attacks are to Paralyze.

Modifier range: 0 to +4

Negative Modifier: None

Other Information: Cannot be present on a weapon with any other status condition modifier.

Shaking

Description: Makes your weapon have a chance of Shaking the opponent, which makes it more difficult to aim. The higher the modifier, the more likely your attacks are to cause Shaking.

Modifier range: 0 to +4

Negative Modifier: None

Other Information: Cannot be present on a weapon with any other status condition modifier.

Freezing

Description: Makes your weapon have a chance of Freezingthe opponent, making them unable to move. The higher the modifier, the more likely your attacks are to Freeze.

Modifier range: 0 to +4

Negative Modifier: None

Other Information: Cannot be present on a weapon with any other status condition modifier.

Petrification

Description: Makes your weapon have a chance of Petrifying the opponent, making them unable to move. The higher the modifier, the more likely your attacks are to Petrify.

Modifier range: 0 to +4

Negative Modifier: None

Other Information: Cannot be present on a weapon with any other status condition modifier.

Weakening

Description: Makes your weapon have a chance of Weakening the opponent, cutting their max HP in half. The higher the modifier, the more likely your attacks are to Weaken.

Modifier range: 0 to +4

Negative Modifier: None

Other Information: Cannot be present on a weapon with any other status condition modifier.

Shot cancellation

Description: Makes your weapon have a strong chance of nullifying incoming enemy fire.

Modifier range: 0 to +1

Negative Modifier: None

Other Information: This modifier is notoriously difficult to “move” while fusing weapons.

Shot range

Description: Increases your weapon’s range, much as a higher Ranged score would. The higher the modifier, the farther your ranged shots will go.

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: A negative Shot range modifier will decrease the range of your ranged shots.

Shot homing

Description: Increases your weapon’s homing capabilities. The higher the modifier, the more likely your shots are to hit the target.

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: A negative Shot homing modifier will decrease the homing ability of your ranged shots.

Other Information: N/A

Speed

Description: Increases how fast your character moves, including walking and running Speed. The higher the modifier, the faster you’ll be.

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: A negative Speed modifier will make your character slower.

Other Information: A Speed modifier cannot be present on a weapon with Walking speed and Running speed modifiers.

Running speed

Description: Increases how fast your character runs. The higher the modifier, the faster you’ll run.

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: A negative Running speed modifier will make your character run more slowly.

Other Information: A Running speed modifier cannot be present on a weapon with a Speed modifier.

Walking speed

Description: Increases how fast your character walks. The higher the modifier, the faster you’ll walk.

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: A negative Walking speed modifier will make your character walk more slowly.

Other Information: A Walking speed modifier cannot be present on a weapon with a Speed modifier.

Stamina

Description: Increases the amount of time your character can run before getting tired. The higher the modifier, the longer your character will go without getting tired.

Modifier range: 0 to +4

Negative Modifier: None

Other Information: N/A

Evasion

Description: Increases your character’s ability to dodge enemy attacks. The higher the modifier, the more likely your character will avoid enemy assaults.

Modifier range: 0 to +4

Negative Modifier: None

Other Information: N/A

Standing ch. shot

Description: Increases the damage dealt by all charge shots performed while standing still. The higher the modifier, the more damage these shots deal.

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: A negative Standing ch. shot modifier decreases the damage dealt by these charge shots.

Other Information: N/A

Dash ch. shot

Description: Increases the damage dealt by all charge shots performed while dashing (Forward-dash, backward-dash, side-dash). The higher the modifier, the more damage these shots deal.

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: A negative Dash ch. shot modifier decreases the damage dealt by charge shots.

Other Information: Cannot be present on a weapon with Forward-dash ch. shot, Backward-dash ch. shot, or Side-dash ch. shot.

Forward-dash ch. shot

Description: Increases the damage dealt by all charge shots performed while dashing forward. The higher the modifier, the more damage these shots deal.

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: A negative Forward-dash ch. shot modifier decreases the damage dealt by charge shots.

Other Information: Cannot be present on a weapon with Dash ch. shot.

Backward-dash ch. shot

Description: Increases the damage dealt by all charge shots performed while dashing backward. The higher the modifier, the more damage these shots deal.

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: A negative Backward-dash ch. shot modifier decreases the damage dealt by charge shots.

Other Information: Cannot be present on a weapon with Dash ch. shot.

Side-dash ch. shot

Description: Increases the damage dealt by all charge shots performed while dashing sideways. The higher the modifier, the more damage these shots deal.

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: A negative Side-dash ch. shot modifier decreases the damage dealt by charge shots.

Other Information: Cannot be present on a weapon with Dash ch. shot.

Standing cont. fire

Description: Increases the damage dealt by continuous fire performed while standing still. The higher the modifier, the more damage these shots deal.

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: A negative Standing cont. fire modifier decreases the damage dealt by these shots.

Other Information: N/A

Dash cont. fire

Description: Increases the damage dealt by all continuous fire performed while dashing (Forward-dash, backward-dash, side-dash). The higher the modifier, the more damage these shots deal.

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: A negative Dash cont. fire modifier decreases the damage dealt by continuous fire while dashing.

Other Information: Cannot be present on a weapon with Forward-dash cont. fire, Backward-dash cont. fire, or Side-dash cont. fire.

Forward-dash cont. fire

Description: Increases the damage dealt by all continuous fire performed while dashing forward. The higher the modifier, the more damage these shots deal.

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: A negative Forward-dash cont. fire modifier decreases the damage dealt by continuous fire while dashing forward.

Other Information: Cannot be present on a weapon with Dash cont. fire.

Backward-dash cont. fire

Description: Increases the damage dealt by all continuous fire performed while dashing backward. The higher the modifier, the more damage these shots deal.

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: A negative Backward-dash cont. fire modifier decreases the damage dealt by continuous fire while dashing backward.

Other Information: Cannot be present on a weapon with Dash cont. fire.

Side-dash cont. fire

Description: Increases the damage dealt by all continuous fire performed while dashing sideways. The higher the modifier, the more damage these shots deal.

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: A negative Side-dash cont. fire modifier decreases the damage dealt by continuous fire while dashing sideways.

Other Information: Cannot be present on a weapon with Dash cont. fire.

Melee combo

Description: Increases the damage dealt by continuous melee attacks. The higher the modifier, the more damage these melee attacks deal.

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: A negative Melee combo modifier decreases the damage dealt by continuous melee attacks.

Other Information: N/A

Melee dash attack

Description: Increases the damage dealt by melee attacks performed while dashing. The higher the modifier, the more damage these melee attacks deal.

Modifier range: -4 to +4

Negative Modifier: A negative Melee dash attack modifier decreases the damage dealt by melee dash attacks.

Other Information: N/A

Power attack

Description: Increases the damage dealt by offensive powers (e.g. Black Hole, Explosive Flame). The higher the modifier, the more damage these attacks deal.

Modifier range: 0 to +4

Negative Modifier: None

Other Information: Like Shot cancellation, Power attack is difficult to fuse onto other weapons (and greatly increases a weapon’s value).

Item attack

Description: Increases the damage dealt by items (e.g. Boom Spear, Cyclone, Smart Bomb). The higher the modifier, the more damage these items deal.

Modifier range: 0 to +4

Negative Modifier: None

Other Information: Like Shot cancellation and Power attack, Item attack is difficult to fuse onto other weapons (and greatly increases a weapon’s value).

Recovery effect

Description: Increases the speed at which status effects dissipate.

Modifier range: 0 to +4

Negative Modifier: None

Other Information: N/A.

Full-health boost

Description: Increases damage dealt by attacks while at full health.

Modifier range: 0 to +8

Negative Modifier: None

Other Information: N/A.

In-peril attack boost

Description: Increases damage dealt by attacks while at low health.

Modifier range: -4 to +8

Negative Modifier: A negative In-peril attack boost modifier decreases the amount of damage done by attacks while at low health.

Other Information: N/A.

In-peril autododge

Description: Increases the probability of dodging attacks while at low health.

Modifier range: -4 to +8

Negative Modifier: A negative In-peril autododge modifier decreases the probability of dodging attacks while at low health.

Other Information: N/A.

Knockback recovery

Description: Makes your character get to their feet faster after a knockback.

Modifier range: 0 to +4

Negative Modifier: None

Other Information: N/A.

Effect duration

Description: Increases the length of effects from items and powers (i.e. Makes Speed Boots or Pisces Heal last longer).

Modifier range: 0 to +4

Negative Modifier: None

Other Information: N/A.

Heart bonus

Description: Increases the amount of hearts received from Solo mode chapters and Together mode battles. The higher the modifier, the more hearts you will receive.

Modifier range: 0 to +3

Negative Modifier: None

Other Information: This modifier works similarly to the Heart Booster power.

Self-injury

Description: Self-injury increases the amount of damage you inflict upon yourself through any means (like shooting a statue in Together mode, for instance).

Modifier range: 0 to -4

Negative Modifier: See description.

Other Information: Self-injury can only be a negative modifier.

  1. recovery effect modifier is the amount of health restored when consuming items like recovery orbs and food. the higher the modifier the more health restored.
