Today while at Nintendo World in New York City, I asked if there were going to be any more Kid Icarus related events since Friday Free-for-Alls have ended. The person I talked to (I unfortunately didn’t get his name) stated that the Kid Icarus events are some of the most popular events going on at the store, and they may try to do some new events in the coming months, such as Chapter Challenges or organized Light vs. Dark matches. He also said that there would probably be some ongoing Free-for-All matches at the store as well, at the normal time from 6:00-8:00pm on Fridays.
As for AR cards, in addition to distribution at new Nintendo World events, Nintendo will be distributing more cards at different gaming conventions (such as PAX, but presumably others as well). Therefore, if you’re still looking for Series 2 AR cards, you should check those places to get some.
Good evening, Orbitars! This is a note to say that for the month of September, the Nintendo World Store in New York City will have open Free-for-All battles on Fridays from 6-8pm. All participants will receive a Series 2 AR Card pack regardless of skill level, so if you’re in the area, you should check it out! I’m going to be in NYC tomorrow, but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to make it yet. If I can, I’ll scan and post images of AR cards!
If you go to the official Kid Icarus website, you can see a link to a new page advertising the release of a second series of AR cards, featuring more characters, enemies, weapons, items, and locations from Kid Icarus: Uprising. Nintendo’s going to start giving these out tomorrow (August 3, 2012) at the Nintendo World Store in New York City at the usual Kid Icarus event time from 6pm to 8pm EDT.
Also exciting is the announcement that people will also be able to obtain more Series 2 packs at other game play sessions at select locations later this year. Does this mean that more organized play events are coming? We’ll bring you more information as it comes!
If you head over to the , you’ll see a header for “Upcoming Gameplay Sessions” with a link to . Could this mean there are more Nintendo official meetups on the way? We’ll let you know if this is the case.
Closer to home, I’m also interested in running a regular weekly play session for open Light vs. Dark and Free-for-All matches, with rankings/leaderboards. However, I haven’t done this yet because I haven’t been able to properly gauge interest or establish a time that would maximize the amount of people. If you’re interested, please let us know in the comments, as well as giving a day of the week and time when you’d be available. If you have any friends that could be interested, let them know as well! If we have enough interest, we can also have multiple meetings per week. I know there’s been some conversation about this topic in the Forums already, so thanks for those of you that have contributed!
In other site news, we’re still working on the Powers page, and will keep bringing you up-to-date information on all things Kid Icarus: Uprising!
Hello, Orbitars! I’m here to drop a quick note about an event going on today at the Nintendo World store in New York City. There are apparently going to be Kid Icarus multiplayer tournaments, so if you’re in the area, you should check it out! This also appears to be the last event they’re having at the store for the next couple of months, so that’s another reason to go! The store is open from 9am to 9pm EDT, and you can find a very vague description of the event at the Nintendo World Store site. If anyone attends the event, please let us know about it!
Of course, if you’re looking for people to battle, you can always find people here, since we’re always ready for a good fight!
